URSEC are not supplied sterile: they must be cleaned before use. After usage, empty the URSEC urinal in the toilets, then dismantle it to clean it. URSEC for women: unplug the white Feminine fitting. Unscrew the green anti-reflux and the MTQuick plug (white or red), the handle can be taken off if needed. Rinse all URSEC parts with cold water and bleach (chlorine) or a good disinfectant. In hospitals: URSEC can be cleaned in bedpan washers. Be careful when cleaning not to scratch the inner part of the large opening of URSEC (where the sealing with the anti-reflux is made)  as it could result in a leak (to solve the problem screw and unscrew the green anti- reflux several times to polish the scratch). In case of tartar after several months of use, dissolve it with regular white vinegar. URSEC is sterilizable in autoclave at 130°C (266°F) (except the red safety plug). URSEC can also be sterized with Ethylene Oxide. After cleaning, twist on the green anti-reflux and the MTQuick plug back on URSEC. Slide back the green glow-in-the-dark handle if necessary. URSEC is now ready to be used again.
